2. Use of Information
Like all website and web service operators, ImageWare receives, gathers, manages, analyzes, and transfers information. ImageWare does so in order to operate and maintain its current websites, services, and to do business with customers and business partners. For example, ImageWare may receive, gather, manage, analyze, and transfer:
- Non-personally identifying information such as browser type, location, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of use of our websites and services;
- Information that users of our websites and services provide to us;
- Information concerning the use of our websites and services by users;
- Information about users of our website and services that we receive from business partners, other users of our services, and other third parties; and
- Information that users of our websites and services have made public, whether through our websites and services, or otherwise.
- Biometric information of the users
ImageWare may receive, gather, manage, analyze, and transfer information in order to correspond with users of its websites and services and to display advertising about goods and services that are of interest to users. ImageWare sometimes transfers, shares, and sells information to users, business partners, and customers, and these parties may use such information for their own purposes. ImageWare may, or may not, control the use of information by such users, business partners, and customers. ImageWare may use information to verify the identity of users, to check user qualifications, and to follow up with transactions initiated on our website(s). We may use contact information to inform users of any changes to our websites and services or to send users additional information about ImageWare and its products and services.
3. No Transfer of Certain Personally-Identifying Information
Some users of ImageWare websites and services may provide ImageWare with personally-identifying information when registering to use our websites and services or when entering into commercial transactions concerning paid-for products and services. For example, a user may provide us with an email address in order to register for access to an ImageWare web service or may provide us with a physical mailing address when purchasing a product or service. Some users provide us with biometric information that is used by our software applications, for example, to authenticate users of those applications. Unless a user provides ImageWare with permission at the time of disclosure or at another time, ImageWare will not transfer, lease, or sell personally-identifying information collected at the time of such registration or commercial transaction. Similarly, ImageWare will not transfer, lease, or sell such user biometric information. As an exception to this promise, ImageWare may share such information in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request, or when ImageWare believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights or interests of ImageWare, its customers, business partners, or the public at large.
4. Public Information
Users may choose to use ImageWare websites and services to make information public. For example, a user may submit personal information to a service that is accessible to other users of such Service or the public generally and, in doing so; publicly divulge information about him or herself. As another example, a user may use the ImageWare pillphone service to disclose information about his or her medications to care givers, care providers, friends, family, and others. ImageWare cannot and does not control how this divulged information is used and further disseminated by the public (including friends and family). We may ask users of our websites and services to provide us with a username and a user profile. Usernames and profiles will be made available to the public.
